Woodcut Media was named one of the fastest growing TV production companies in the UK by Broadcast in 2016. Building on that momentum, 2017 saw Woodcut Media make its debut in the Televisual Production 100 and as a Real Screen 100 Production Company. 2018 saw the production company expand adding Woodcut International to the label to drive the commercial and distribution arm of the company, and a further expansion in saw 2020 Woodcut West being formed to build on the existing success of development and production of natural history and specialist factual programming.

Woodcut Media is one of the leaders in true crime producing hit crime franchises including: Killer In My Family (Discovery), The Killer Within (Sky Crime), Surviving a Serial Killer (C4), How I Caught The Killer (Sky Crime), World’s Most Evil Killers (TBC), Murder at My Door with Kym Marsh (Crime+Investigation), The Beverley Allitt Tapes (Sky Crime). 

Outside of true crime Woodcut produce premium documentaries - titles include Fiennes: Return to The Nile (National Geographic), Cut From A Different Cloth (Netflix) and Mandela, My Dad and Me (Discovery) both co-produced and featuring Idris Elba. Our specialist factual titles include Combat Ships (Smithsonian), Tony Robinson’s Forgotten War Stories (C4) Secret History of World War II (Channel 5) and Tony Robinson's V.E Day: Minute by Minute (Discovery) - and popular factual and factual entertainment programmes where titles range from The Ivy (ITV)Football: A Brief History by Alfie Allen (History), Around the World in 80 Tricks (Insight), How Hacks Work (Viasat) and Paranormal Captured (SKY).

With a great track record in the UK (C4, BBC, UKTV, Discovery, A+E & Sky), Woodcut Media's shows have also proven popular internationally with the likes of Nat Geo and Smithsonian in the US, SBS in Australia, RTL and ProSieben in Germany, Histoire, RMC Decouverte and Canal + in France and Netlfix globally to name but a few.
