Odd Girl Out
Odd Girl Out Productions is an independent UK-based film and TV production company, dedicated to producing high-end, creative documentaries and non fiction films. We endeavour to be curious, daring and to seek out projects with serious artistic ambitions.
Odd Girl Out has had films selected at Sundance, SXSW, Telluride, Hot Docs, IDFA, True/False, Sheffield, and London International Film Festival. Past productions include the critically acclaimed documentary "The Solitary Life of Cranes" about the secret life of a city seen through the eyes of crane drivers ("one of the most absorbing documentaries of the year" – The Observer), the mid-length film "Black Out" ("An eye-opening doc ... moves seamlesslybetween the straightforward and the poetic" – The Hollywood Reporter), and the vertically-shot short doc "Skywards" (premiered at Telluride Film Festival).
Odd Girl Out is currently in development with four films, including a feature documentary about the German chancellor Angela Merkel (a co-production with Passion Pictures), the non-fiction feature "The Silence of the Night" (a co-production with the Scottish based company Parcel of Rogues, supported by Screen Scotland), and the non-fiction true-crime thriller "Ghost Wives" (supported by Creative Europe, the Danish Film Institute and Catapult Film Fund). We are also working on a number of factual TV series projects.
