Since 2006, Dabster Productions have written and produced radio, television and on-demand programming for national and international broadcasters and brands. They are a small, close-knit team based in Edinburgh, to whom every project is a passion.
Comedy is at the root of most of their work; from pioneering formats examining mental health for BBC Radio 4, to headline grabbing panel shows for BBC Radio Scotland; immersive narrative soundscapes from New York, to London's grubby history with one of its most famous sons. Most recently, Dabster have produced 'Edinburgh Unlocked', 'The Comedy Underground' and 'Comedians at The Kings' for the BBC Scotland channel, firmly planting a flag in the future of the company's television ambitions.
Dabster have long recognised the importance of diversity in their on-air talent, and see it as a responsibility to represent people from different social, ethnic and economic backgrounds, as well as giving a voice to neurodiverse talent, people with differing abilities and include everyone, no matter how you identify or go home with.
Dabster have an extensive production history, from podcasts and live shows for Amnesty International, The Guardian and Pleasance, to flagship returning series for BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio Scotland, to sitcoms, scripted drama, award winning fringe shows, number one singles, national press coverage and ground breaking SMB engagement in Scotland’s expansive tourism industry.
